About Different Types of Drawer Slide Material
There are a few options of materials, which are used for drawer slides. The most common options are steel, a standard metal, or plastic. Ball bearings serve as better materials than wheels or sliders.
Steel for drawer slides 
Steel slides are the best, and most durable, option for cabinet drawers, and they are all that we offer. The steel is extremely durable and is attached directly to the interior of the cabinet and to the drawer. When you open the drawer, it is very smooth due to the ball bearings used in the slide. Once the drawer is opened all of the way, it will firmly stop.
Metal for drawer slides 
Metal slides with rollers are a downgrade for cabinet drawers. The rollers are extremely unsmooth and the drawer can easily fall out if pulled too quickly or too far. Both the rollers and the metal are very weak and can be easily bent or damaged.
Plastic for drawer slides 
Plastic drawer slides are extremely weak and not durable. They are typically found in very low end cabinets. They are damaged easily and are not recommended.
