Traditionally, cabinets have been delivered to the consumer pre-assembled. While pre-assembled cabinets are ready for installation upon arrival, they also have disadvantages in today's world. Another factor which affects the shipment cost is the amount of space the shipment will consume - this factor is controllable.
Unassembled kitchen cabinets take up much less room than preassembled cabinets and are far less likely to incur damage prior to delivery. Unassembled cabinets provide dramatic savings in shipping costs and are much more convenient if they need to be stored or transported before installation.
