The kitchen's story:

We are a fraternity at the University of Vermont that must cook for 17+ men on 5 nights a week. We need a more efficient cooking method, as well as a dishwasher when we don't even have a garbage disposal or a fridge that has shelves. We are also cooking on only 2 working burners with old pots and pans. Also, we have an over-sized range hood that lets in thousands of flies. Our funds goes to our over $5,000 per year to charities such as the Military Heroes Fund to raise money for the families of wounded soldiers. We need your help as our commitment to charity will always come first.

I love our house, but this is where we cook and eat food, and I can't convey smell or mold in a picture, but trust me it is there

We keep our kitchen as clean as possible. We didn't overplay our kitchen to be worse than it is like most of these posts. This is our actual kitchen which we clean once a week, it is just not a practical kitchen for 17 people focused on studies and service who hardly have the time to cook as it is. Please help us out.

I just wanted to bring something to your attention. The 14000 only covers cabinets, back splashes and maybe a sink. Sorry no dishwasher, garbage disposal oven or frig. Read the rules the next you decide to post on a contest

Thank Bill for your concerns, it does however include a practical sink and enough counterspace to help us out. We can find the money I'm sure for those other things, but I don't know why we wouldn;t try and get the renovation when we can.

I just wanted to let you know that I completely feel for guys. I entered London Dance Hall's Kitchen in the Diy contest and the amount of people we both have to feed and in very similar layouts, it makes you work so much harder than it should be. I'll continue to vote on here for you. Btw, Bill, even new cabinets can change the layout enough to make cooking for that many people so much easier!
